An extra special story

Kia ora koutou

It’s been nearly two years since I started collecting stories about the Old Mangere Bridge. I’ve shared some of the history and memories with you. Today, I just want to share an extra special story that my friend Nina Tapu wrote.

We met at a post-graduate writing retreat where this particular weekend, I especially, was excited to learn about the concept of the bricolage as a research methodology. It summed up my research approach – taking ideas and research from many different sources and bringing them together. The title of Nina’s short story is play on the words “bridge” and “bricolage”.

Thank you Nina.
